CITY OF GARDEN
URBAN DESIGN
The main concept of the project is "city garden", which is stand on the urban fabric, the location of the center plaza, and the respect of the formal green landscape. Italy is famous for food--a fantastic thing which can delight people's mood, and then active the vicinage. Therefore, we choose "food" as the theme for this project. "Food History","Food Workshop", Ingredient Pavilion","Theme Restaurant" and "Theme Hostel" etc. constitute the atmosphere of "strolling in the food festival".
Morphology
1. According to the urban fabric, the volume should be separated to response different drection of the center plaza.
2. One block is enlarged to be a main building, which is mainly about accomodation, and the function of remaining part are food hobby.
3. A platform is used to connect all of the blocks and as a circulation. Most of them are like a corridor to passed by. Some of them are enlarged to have a more space whicha can be hold activities.
4. Planting lots of trees in the underground to make the "hole" as a whole garden, in the mean time, to respect the formal landscape.

The basic concept of hostel is "share", which is popular ideology in contemporary society, especially in young people.
There are three types of rooms due to the amount of people and area. all of them are combined with bedroom and kitchen. The bedroom is private, but the kitchen and eating area could be public and shared with another guest.
Therefore, the wall between kitchen and common space could be lift up and down (open and closed), like a magic, to share this space.
This is a schematic to present that the guest from all over the world to share their kitchen, cook for each other, using the common eating space, to realize the communcation about food, even different culture, which is the meaning of this project.
